As well as our main focus – organising and running mathematical competitions – the UKMT also organises enrichment activities.

UKMT Summer Schools are designed for young people with an interest in mathematics. They aim to promote mathematical thinking and provide an opportunity for participants to meet other students and adults who enjoy mathematics.

The Mathematical Circles enable enthusiastic mathematicians from a local area to come together for two days and follow a mathematically demanding programme, similar to that at a summer school but over a shorter time frame and non-residential. The Mathematical Circles are aimed at students in Year 10 (England and Wales), S3 (Scotland) and Year 11 (Northern Ireland).

Every year, high performing Intermediate Challenge Students in certain areas across the UK are invited to attend summer mathematical days out run under the auspices of the Royal Institution Masterclass network; these are our Best in School events.
